Back in March (2016) I stumbled across a blog post that literally turned my life around! I have gone from working part time and seriously scraping by every month to being able to buy a new house, all the clothes and makeup I want and flights to New York in the space of just 7 months. It sounds too good to be true, I know. I was sceptical about it all but when I lost my job I just gave it a go as I had nothing to lose and I haven’t looked back since. It’s now time for me to share my knowledge and help others the way that Blogger helped me. The secret to my new Financial Freedom is Matched Betting.
In my first month of Matched Betting I made £1839.36 all with the help of Outplayed. Outplayed is a site that shows you all the how to’s and guides you through the process of Matched Betting. They offer a free trial run to see if it is for you and from the trial you should earn up to £45.
How Matched Betting Works
Bookmakers regularly run offers for free bets. Matched Betting is the process of turning those free bets into real cash. By covering every possible outcome of a sporting event we can guarantee ourselves a profit every time. We place what is known as a back bet at the Bookmaker like Coral for example and then a lay bet at the exchange like Betfair and cover all outcomes of a game.
Matched Betting Example Scenario
For example, Coral are giving away a £20 free bet when you place your first £5 bet as a new customer. Via the Outplayed website we use their Oddsmatching software to find something to bet on.
Say we’ve found a Football match between Manchester United and Chelsea. The odds for a Draw are 3.0 and the odds it won’t be a draw are 3.2. We would place a £5 bet on at Coral for Manchester United and Chelsea to draw. We would also place the opposing bet on an exchange website like Betfair or Smarkets that the game won’t end in a draw which covers if Manchester United or Chelsea win.
We’ve now covered every eventuality of that game meaning that both bets we have made will win. But as there is a slight difference in the odds we will lose around 20p. BUT we have met the criteria for Coral to give us a £20 free bet.
We then repeat the process again on a different match but this time we will be in profit as the free bet wasn’t our money to begin with. Depending on the odds you bet on you should be in profit anywhere between £14-£18.
Now you just repeat this process over and over again to keep making money!
Video Guide for visual learners
That’s the very basics of how matched betting works. If you want a more detailed version there is a video on Outplayed that breaks down the process even more. I’d highly recommend signing up for a free trial and just watching the step by step tutorial videos. This will give you a full understanding of how the process works.
How Much Money Can You Make Matched Betting?
The possibilities really are endless. I’ve included my matched betting earnings for a year so you can see just how much money can be made each month.
March – £1839.36
April – £999.94
May – £833.21
June – £989.55
July – £540.31
August – £963.11
September – £782.59
October – £424.16
November – £750.31
December – £274.89
January – £317.27
February – £281.46
In a year I have made £8996.16 profit!
That’s a crazy amount of money considering that is on top of my part time job and blogging.
Some months I did a lot less Matched Betting than others as I was away on holiday and that really shows in the figures. The more active you are the more you can earn.
Is Matched betting a Scam?
I was sceptical at first but after watching the videos and doing the free trial on Outplayed it all made sense and I understood just how profitable it could be. If you want further proof of just how amazing Matched Betting is then come and join the £5 a Day Side Hustle Challenge app where everyone is sharing how much they have earned from side hustling.
Is Matched Betting Legal?
It’s 100% legal. The Bookmakers don’t like it but there’s nothing to stop us doing it.
Do you need to know much about sport?
I knew absolutely nothing about sport and gambling when I started. Outplayed has an oddsmatcher tool which shows you exactly what to bet on. It will give you a whole list of football matches, horse races and more that you can select and bet on. It really does do everything for you.
Do I need to be good at Maths?
There a lot of numbers involved and this is a question I get asked about a lot but the simple answer is no. There are matched betting calculators that do all the work for you. You input the odds of what you are betting on and how much your stake is and the calculator will work out the rest.
Can anyone do it?
You must be over 18 to do Matched Betting. And you will need to be a UK resident. As long as both of these apply to you then you can do Matched Betting.
Can I do this in my spare time?
The beauty of Matched Betting is that you can do it as and when you have some free time. I currently do it alongside blogging and my part time job.
How much money do I need to start up?
You can start with as little as £60. The more you can put into it at the start means you can do more of the offers in a quicker succession of time. I started with a higher amount of money, purely because I wanted to do as many of the sign up offers as possible. Then I moved onto the reload offers the following month.
Do I need to setup a new bank account?
Personally I never did but a large number of people do. Setting up a new bank account can help keep a track of your Matched Betting earnings. It can help to separate your matched betting earnings from your current account.
A few people have had issues when using digital banks like Monzo for Matched Betting so I’d highly recommend using a high street bank instead. I personally use Barclays.
Do I need to declare my Matched Betting income?
As Matched Betting is technically gambling it means what you earn is 100% Tax free. Whatever you make is yours to keep.
Can you Lose Money Matched Betting?
There are a number of free bet offers that are no risk Matched Betting. Other offers incur a small risk but you can decide which offers you choose to do. You can lose money but only if you make a mistake. In the very early days I did make some stupid mistakes as I wasn’t concentrating fully or I was rushing. So make sure you’ve got peace and quite whilst you are Matched Betting so you don’t make any silly mistakes.
Why Isn’t Everybody Doing it?
I think a lot of people get put off as it can seem complicated at first. It’s one of those things that the more you spend time doing it the easier it becomes. It really is second nature to me now. I don’t even need to use the Matched Betting calculator to work out my profit as I know the calculations. Another thing that can put people off is people don’t really talk about it as it’s technically gambling. I guess there’s that worry that you’ll be judged for it. You’d probably be amazed that if you mentioned it at your place of work a number of people will either know about it or have done Matched betting themselves.
Outplayed is the website I use for all my Matched Betting offers.

Word of Advice
If some extra money every month would make difference in your life and you have a few minutes to spare each day then I would 100% recommend it. It has made a huge difference to my life. Take some time to watch the videos provided by Outplayed and really get your head around the process.
8 Year Update
Since originally writing this post back in September 2016 I have made just over £50,000 in tax free cash. I have been able to treat myself to luxuries such as buying a puppy, a holiday to New York, a 2 week holiday to Disney World Florida and an extension on our home. Even more recently I paid for laser eye surgery in full thanks to Matched Betting!
It really has been life changing and now I want to help do the same for you!

Testimonials
‘I came across Neesha on Twitter and was instantly intrigued at all her money-making posts. I decided to give matched betting a go after reading Neesha’s post and results. So far I’ve been matched betting for 2 weeks and have made £400 from matched betting alone and an extra £100 on cashback and casino offers! I’ve not been able to work for a long time due to health issues and have been searching high and low for a way to make some extra money from home and I’ve finally found one! Within 2 weeks, I’ve been able to buy house bits that have been on my wishlist for months along with being on the road to paying off my debt! My only regret is not starting sooner!’ – Ella

‘After seeing Neesha’s blog post about matched betting, my curiosity got the better of me. I was expecting it to be a “too good to be true” scenario, but the reality is you really can make money, risk free. I’m only a week into it, and the only thing I regret is not doing it sooner! I have already made just over £250!’

Thanks for posting this, I’ve signed up and will be trying it out asap!
Just give me a shout if you need help with anything x
I’m signing up now lovely!! Really hope I can make it work like you have! I am so in need! xxxx
Wow – Just goes to show how reading something can actually change your life for the better. I have heard about this matched betting a few times but I am always worried about the risks of gambling, however from what people have said it all seems pretty positive – Will have to look into it further
If you need any help starting out Gemma just drop me a message x
How long a week would you say on average you have given to this to make the £30,000 in 4 years?
I did a lot when I first started out but now probably do only an hour or two a week
Thanks for sharing your success story, could you share how much money you’ve had to pay in to the site to make such large profits please. It doesn’t have to be exact just a rough estimate so I know what I’m getting into because I don’t have much money to spare. I appreciate your transparency oh and also thanks for your honesty about 20 cogs as it helped me realise it wasn’t what I was looking for!
Hi Fred the only amount I ever paid in was my pot to start off. Once I made my money back everything else was purely profit.
Hi !
This is inspiring!
I will need help with this as I have no idea and I want to try this!
Hi,
I’ve
Read about this via various forums but never heard how to do it.
So do you have to use free bets or can you just have outlay and then
Everything profit?
The free bets are what make you the profit.
Is the £180 a year the only amount you’ve had to spend to get these profits?
Hi Rob, Yes that’s my only outgoing is for my Profit Accumulator subscription. It’s currently on offer today too down to £140 for the year
Hi what’s the Profit Accumulator subscription? Is that the Outplayed Platinum subscription you were talking about? I got confused. Thanks
Yes Profit Accumulator rebranded and they are now called Outplayed
Hi Neesha, great site I have applied some of your techniques already.
In regards to using profit accumulator, did you sign up for the platinum or diamond membership?
Hi Sam, When I signed up there was only Platinum available. Diamond was only released this month. It really depends if you intend on doing casino offers or not. If you want to do sports and casino you’ll need the Diamond membership. Hope that helps
I’m not ready for Vegas just yet, I’ll stick with platinum, thanks for the help Neesha.
Hello Neesha,
I’d really like to give this a serious go and have a couple of questions with regards to matched betting that I was hoping you can help me with please.
1: When you replied to a comment above you said “The only amount I ever paid in was my pot to start off. Once I made my money back everything else was purely profit”
Can you share how much you had to put in to your pot to star off with so I can get an idea of startup costs etc?
2: Are the membership costs for Profit Accumulator expensive, like what are the fee’s for the different levels of membership, and is it strictly necessary to stay a paid member once you have gotten used to the process?
3: Lastly, is this something that can be scaled up in any way, or is it limited by the process of how it works etc?
Hope you are able to give me some advice as it would help a lot with knowing what to expect 🙂
Also, I just discovered your blog, I’m really enjoying your content so far and the straight up useful information you’ve provided so thank you.
I wish you continued success and looking forward to learning more from your money making endeavours!
Hi Jay,
Hope these answers help.
1. I started off with more than most as I wanted to do as many offers as possible in a quick succession of time. I can’t remember exactly but it was probably close to £300. You can absolutely start with less but you’d have to do one offer at a time and wait for it to be paid out before moving onto the next offer.
2. Profit Accumulator Platinum is currently £24.99 a month – http://reinventingneesha.co.uk/profitaccumulator
You don’t need to stay a member but you’d need to then find the bets yourself and know the maths without using Profit Accumulator.
3. It’s not really scalable in the sense that you can make £25,000 a year for example. There are only ever so many free bets and offers available. There is new daily offer but it would be a hard push to continually make say £2,000 a month.
I hope that makes sense. If you need any more help the Facebook group is really great for help when starting out – https://www.facebook.com/groups/247082602341116
Do you have to use profit accumulator or can you do this alone once you’ve learnt the techniques?
How many hrs did you spend on it at the start? You mentioned only a few hrs now but just trying to work out as with a busy family and full time job, is it realistic to say i only need a few hrs a month to do this?
You can definitely do it without the subscription but you’d really need to know the Maths and be able to find all the bets yourself.
When I first started out it was all I did all day, every day. Now I only do an hour or two a week on it. Yeah, you can absolutely work it around a busy family and full-time job.
Strange. Two days ago I found a piece of paper with an Odds Monkey password on it. Signed up and never used it. Over the years I have looked at MB several times and spent money (up to £500) on memberships and information. Never had the guts to do it because although I understand the math, having so many accounts and money here and there I simply cannot get it in my head where I would see my profit overall. Without that I am sunk.
I can see it with – for example – something that ‘snipes’ and uses just one account lie Betfair, but not the other way around. I must be the only silly 60+ year old who cannot though
It’s free to read the tutorials and watch the videos about Matched Betting. You can then complete a free trial which will net you money to purchase the monthly subscription to then really get stuck into Matched Betting. It’s not for everyone as some people do struggle to wrap their head around how it all works. Have you tried any other ways of making money online?
I have taken my time getting back to you on this. I do not like discussing my life for all to see.
Over 25 years I have tried a wide and varied selection costing – when I decided to add it up – too much! I was well alive before the internet and it was all done by “Biz Op” mags – one of which I used to write for.
The one thing I will leave for anyone reading this is that although Odds Monkey and Profit Accumulator offer very similar services, as someone who has looked into Matched Betting many times before and not gone ahead with it – in part I am wondering if not because I was brought up NO GAMBLING – Profit Accumulator has by far the edge on the way they present their information.
I have printed out and read and re-read a lot of it and things are finally beginning to make sense.
